Cotton duck canvas woven fabric. Once used as work-wear for Dutch sailors, duck canvas is now a hugely popular fabrication in modern garment sewing. Duck canvas boasts a higher thread count and a tighter weave than average canvas materials. Because of this tight plain weave, it is a durable fabric that has better weather resistance than other cotton outwear materials. This fabric has a softer hand than you would expect for a canvas, which makes it excellent for apparel. This 10oz canvas is the perfect weight if you are just starting your pants making journey. We are also loving it for this year's popular workwear-inspired boilersuit, overalls, and chore jacket patterns.
This fabric was produced from environmentally friendly materials and fabrication methods using sustainable fibers and low impact dyeing methods preserving the Earth's resources.
