This one goes out to all the fellow ‘hard pants’ haters!
With comfort and durability in mind, the Midtown jeans have been specifically designed to be sewn in stretch denim/woven fabrics! The stretch not only adds comfort, it also helps the jeans retain their shape, therefore avoiding the dreaded sagging 1 hour into your day.
The Midtown jeans have a high waist, wide leg silhouette and come with all the classic jeans features: a back yoke and patch pockets, front pockets and a zipper fly.

The Midtown jeans are designed to work with mid to heavyweight woven fabrics (8oz / 271gsm and up) with 1 or 2% of stretch (in the fabric composition). Fabrics like denim or corduroy are ideal for this project. Because the pattern is drafted with negative ease at the waist and hips area, the stretch helps with fit. The stretch also adds comfortability and keeps the jeans from stretching out during the day. Make sure to prewash and machine-dry your fabric before cutting the pieces as the stretch can significantly shrink the fabric once washed.
