We ship via Canada Post who are experiencing widespread delays as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Canada Post has suspended the delivery guarantees for all services. Delays may occur for both regular and express delivery. Once your package has been shipped and left our premises, we are not responsible for the delays that may occur. 

Orders ship within 5 business days. We cannot fast track any orders at this time. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

When applicable, your tracking number will be e-mailed to you on the day of shipment. 


Shipments within Canada are sent via Canada post. Orders over $100, before tax and after discounts, qualify for free expedited shipping. Please note that oversized orders weighing more than 40lbs may incur additional shipping costs once the order is packed and weighed.

All Canada orders are shipped with tracking included. Approximate transit times are as follows:

United States:

Shipments to the United States are sent via Canada Post. Orders over $150CAD, before tax and after discounts, qualify for free shipping. Please note that oversized orders weighing more than 40lbs may incur additional shipping costs once the order is packed and weighed.

All US orders are shipped with tracking included, and orders under $800CAD ship duty free! Approximate shipping times are as follows:

Expedited Parcel USA: 4 - 7 business days

Tracked Packet USA: 4 - 8 business days (eligible for parcels under 2000 grams)


Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not able to ship to all international locations. We are currently only offering Canada Post's Xpresspost and Tracked Packet International services to ensure that all shipments are fully tracked. International shipments are sent via Canada Post. For shipments travelling outside of Canada and the United States, duties, taxes, and import charges are the responsibility of the purchaser and may be charged to you upon delivery. 

Approximate transit times are as follows:

Tracked Packet™ International: 6 – 10 business days* (eligible for parcels under 2000 grams)

Xpresspost™ International: 4 – 7 business days*

*Delays of 2 - 6 weeks are to be expected for both regular and express delivery options due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. 

Please note: We are not responsible for transit delays that may occur due to weather, customs, or other unforeseen circumstances. If you think your package may be lost, don't worry! Get in touch with us and we'll be happy to work with you to find it, or work out a credit or replacement.


We want you to love your new fabric order! If you have received an incorrect item or there is a mistake in your order, please email us at info@blackbirdfabrics and we will make things right.

All sales are final. Once an order has been placed and the fabric has been cut, we cannot accept refunds or exchanges for other products in the store.

We do our best to ensure the colour of the fabric online matches as close as possible to the bolt in the shop. We shoot our photographs in natural light and agonize over the the exact shade and colour description in our photos and fabric listing. However, due to the vast colour variances in every monitor and mobile device, we cannot guarantee the colour will be an exact match to what you see online. Requesting fabric swatches is free of charge and is the best way to make sure that you are getting exactly the colour and texture you want. If you are worried that a fabric will not last in the shop while you are waiting for the swatch to come through your mail service, just check in with us to confirm the shop quantity and probability of inventory when requesting your swatches.

Our care instructions come straight from our distributors or fabric manufacturers. Please follow the care instructions found on the label and in the product listing as we are unable to accept returns for fabric that has been damaged in the washing process or laundered incorrectly.
