Perfect Pairings: Yarn-Dyed Linens Edition

Our newest collection of Yarn-Dyed Linens is as bright & colourful as a summer garden in full bloom — and what's the only thing better than exploring a summer garden in full bloom? Doing so with a refreshing drink in your hand, of course! With that in mind, the Birdies dreamt up our newest linens as summery makes, then paired them with our favourite cool-down beverages so you can sip as you sew.

Come along with us as we turn up the heat on our me-made wardrobes!

1. Hibiscus Lemonade

Our Patchwork Yarn-Dyed Linen in Orchid, Orange & Aqua boasts a pallet as stunning as a California sunset — a sight best enjoyed with a tall glass of hibiscus lemondade and a tiered sundress, like this Named Clothing Kerttu Knot Dress (up to a US size 24)!

2. Tropical Smoothie

Our Harmony Check Yarn-Dyed Linen in Guava is smooth & vibrant, whereas our Pinstripe Stonewashed Linen in Navy is textured & relaxed. Put them together, and what do you get? A beach vacation with bottomless tropical smoothies! For a quick paradise-worthy fit, sew them up as the Elbe Textiles Trigg Shorts (up to a 56.3" hip) and the Wardrobe By Me Tunic Shirt (up to a 50.3" chest).

3. Iced Latte

Bold patterns and colours go hand-in-hand with busy days. That's why we think our Harmony Check Yarn-Dyed Linen in Blue and our Windowpane Check Yarn-Dyed Linen in Raspberry are the perfect fabrics for those out-and-about, iced latte in-hand, weekend fits. Dreamt up here as the Stitch Witch Tudor Blouse (up to a 59" chest) and the Untitled Thoughts Chandler Shorts (up to a US size 30) — your summer errand style awaits!

4. Appletini

Want to lounge on patios all afternoon ordering appletinis? The Daughter Judy Seneca Jumpsuit (up to a 56" chest, 66.5" hip) sewn up with our Jumbo Plaid Yarn-Dyed Linen in Garnet and our Mini Gingham Linen in Black & Ecru is the official uniform. You heard it here first.

5. Mixed Berry Sangria

The only thing as refreshing & delicious as a glass of mixed berry sangria is our Mini Prism Yarn-Dyed Linen in Mixed Berry — and the only thing as chic is a matching set. Pairing the Friday Pattern Company Saguaro Set (up to a 60" chest, 63" hip) with this juicy fabric is cheers-worthy, no doubt.

6. Fruit-Infused h2O

Taking a trail walk to escape the heat under a canopy of trees? You're gonna need a breezy dress to stay cool, plus an easy-layering piece to fend off mosquitoes. Our Jumbo Plaid Yarn-Dyed Linen in Pine as the new Helen's Closet Moss Jacket (up to a 60" chest) and our Mini Gingham Linen in Oatmeal & Ecru as the Papercut Patterns Celestia Dress (up to a 46.5" chest, 48.8" hip) fit the vibes and the bill! Oh, and you're gonna need a big bottle of fruit-infused water close by to stay happy & hydrated.

7. Homemade Iced Tea

The start of the summer brings joys of many kinds — one of which is adding a scoop of ice to your afternoon tea. When it's time to sit down and bask after a long morning, there's nothing like a cheery top and a flowing maxi to make you feel luxurious. Sew up our lovely Windowpane Check Yarn-Dyed Linen in Butter as the Erbaccia Studio Atropa Top (up to a 63" chest) and our Classic Check Yarn-Dyed Linen in Black, Periwinkle & White as the Seamwork Dezi Skirt (up to a 58" hip), then park yourself on a lounge chair — you deserve nothing less!

Let us know which of these garments you're itching to sew up this season, and what your favourite cool-down beverage is in the comments!

Hi there, just a note that I think the Trigg shorts are from Elbe Textiles not Sew House 7.https://elbetextiles.com.au/products/trigg-shorts-digital-sewing-pattern

Just a minor error – the trigg shorts are by Elbe Textiles – it says Sew House Seven above :) My partner loves these shorts!
