This midweight waxed cotton poplin comes from iconic UK heritage mill British Millerain, the original manufacturer behind waxed canvas production. Breathable with a comfortable, soft hand and dry, non-waxy feel, this water-resistant cotton is a perfect alternative to synthetic outerwear fabrics. We love this fabric for lightweight jackets, overshirts, bags, and accessories.

Care: Brush off dirt or use a light, cool-water rinse to remove debris.
Do not machine wash, dry clean, or tumble dry as these processes will strip the wax finish. If spot cleaning is necessary, hand wash gently with a soft cloth, cold water, and mild soap. Test the soap you plan to use, as many stronger detergents will break down the wax.
The water-resistant properties will decrease with washing and wear. To restore, apply a reproofing spray specifically designed for dry waxed fabrics. You can also clear up crease marks by using a heat-blowing gun, hair dryer, or iron at medium heat (with a protective paper layer between the fabric and the iron). Check out this Youtube tutorial for more information. You can also re-wax your fabric by using Tex Wax™ refinishing product or a fabric-safe paraffin wax.
Note: we recommend that you pre-wash / pre-treat your fabric in the manner you intend to wash your finished garment.
